The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.

Robert Greene has included this quote in his book “Mastery”. The basis of it is to explain the importance of the intuitive mind. The intuitive mind is not rational, it is spontaneous, it is highly creative and it is what all Masters possess. The rational mind is not spontaneous, it thinks of rationalizing everything with logic or some accepted principle. The rational mind isn’t creative, it tries to consider all known facts, assumptions, and experiences to come up with a decision. If you start following your rational mind then you won’t be able to achieve the unknown like Einstein did. Sadly, our society focuses more on the rational mind than the intuitive mind. Robert Green mentions that all masters have a combination of both intuitive/creative mind and rational/conventional mind. He names it as “Dimensional Mind” – such a mind is not constricted by limited experience or habits. It can branch out into all directions and it can explore more dimensions of the world.
