On the one hand, we all want to be happy. On the other hand, we all know the things that make us happy. But we don’t do those things. Why? Simple. We are too busy. Too busy doing what? Too busy trying to be happy.

Matthew Kelly, NY Times bestselling author of ‘The Rhythm of Life’ talks about the modern day “Happiness Paradox” noting that we all know the things that make us happy, but we just don’t do them.

Everyone on the earth has a natural thirst for happiness. We crave for happiness; we do things that we believe will make us happy. But do these things make us really happy? NO. We don’t do the things that could REALLY make us happy sighting the reason that we don’t have time! For example, we all know we would feel happy if we are healthy. We know in order to be healthy, we will have to exercise, and cook and eat nutritious food. But we don’t exercise or cook. WHY? Because we are too busy.

To put it in Matthew Kelly’s own words – “For the most part, we are too busy doing just about everything that means just about nothing, to just about nobody, just about anywhere.”
